How to use the Invoice Generator

  1. Open “My brand” and add your name, logo, colours and banking details. You only do this once.
  2. Fill in the client, the dates and the lines on the “Content” tab. The preview updates as you type.
  3. Use “Design” to change the layout, or start from one of the presets.
  4. Download the PDF, print it, or have it emailed to you. Your design is saved for next time.

Questions people ask

Do I have to make the design again for the next invoice?

No. Your brand and your layout are saved in this browser, so the next invoice opens looking the same and you only change the client, the number and the lines.

Where is my logo stored?

In your own browser, and nowhere else. It is scaled down and kept locally, so it is never uploaded to us — which also means it will not follow you to another device unless you export the design.

What should be on an invoice in South Africa?

Your name and contact details, the client’s, a unique invoice number, the date, a description of what was supplied, the amount, and how to pay. If you are a registered VAT vendor you must also show the words “Tax Invoice”, your VAT number and the VAT amount. If you are not registered, you may not charge VAT at all.

Can I email it to my client?

“Email it to me” sends the PDF to your own address so you can forward it with your own covering note. We do not send anything to your client on your behalf.

Is the PDF text selectable?

Yes. It is a real PDF with real text, not a picture of one, so it can be searched, copied and read by accounting software.
